I was born with quite a few things wrong with my musculoskeletal system but I'll start with Club Foot. To make a long story short the final treatment of the clubbed foot was to cut the Achileas Tendon in order to lengthen it which left my right ankle with very limited flexibility. I was not told this until last year when I went to my Sports medicine Dr. for a stress fracture in my shin. So throughout my whole 30 years of life I was getting severe shin splints and and tendonititus and everyone just thought it was normal. Everyone who runs or plays tennis gets shin splints or tendinitous, no, not this painful and not lasting sometimes as long as 3 months. So being that I'm a runner and group fitness instructor I had to figure some things out to survive my issue without being benched. I started with shoes. I was told by my Physical Therapist to get a pair of Asics. So I packed up my $110.00 Under Armours and purchased a pair of $90.00 Asics. The asics were great for exactly 6 months I knew they were toast when my shins started complaining. I was mad I can't afford to buy a new pair of $100.00 shoes every 6 months I mean c'mon. Then I saw a commersial for those new Tubes shoes, I had to try them. I hot footed it to Dick's Sporting Goods to try them on and I was floored by the price, nope those are not even going on my feet. Then a pretty blue pair of K-Swiss Tubes caught my eye I tried them on and I felt like I was "springy". So I bought them, they were 90.00 but with my discount they were 60 smackers. So heres the outcome, I have been wearing them for about 9 months now I run about 4 miles on a treadmill a day and I'm still shin splint free.
